Is this legal?
In most states a friend or family member can legally officiate once they're ordained, but rules vary: some states and cities (for example Virginia, Nevada, Hawaii and New York City) also require the officiant to register or get court authorization first, and a few (such as Colorado, Pennsylvania and D.C.) let couples marry without an officiant at all. We show your person exactly what your state requires. We're not a law firm β always confirm with your county clerk.
